After extensively scouting for a location in Los Angeles to film in, and obtaining the correct permits, we found ourselves trying to film on the same day as the show “24”.
Knowing that it would be difficult to get around these issues, we negotiated with FilmLA Inc. and the show’s Location Manager John Johnston to use an alternate location. While this was far from ideal, it nevertheless gave us the opportunity to film the project on schedule.
FILMING SCHEDULE:
September 15 - Lawndale (house)
September 16 - Los Angeles (corner of Industrial and Mill Streets) - rain day
September 17 - Los Angeles (corner of Industrial and Mill Streets) - dry day
September 18 - Lawndale (house)
DID YOU KNOW:
- Originally the film would be an HD digital project, but was subsequently changed to a Super 16mm film shoot. It was felt that the film would offer a stronger cinematic look and quality that the digital cameras would not be able to capture.
- The “bus stop” was located just 1 block east of the Metro Bus depot. However, the buses don’t run here, and the location had to be setup to look like a bus stop with bench, city trash can, mail box and shopping cart (all props).
